We examine the types of medications people obtain informally. These are usually generic medicines that are not licensed in their home countries.

In the second stage of the product, we will test a sample of medications sold online in partnership with the School of Chemistry at QMUL. In the first qualitative part of the project, we ask a few key questions about informal and self-managed medications:

• How do people move pharmaceuticals across borders for self-managed health?
• How do these products cross legal and regulatory borders as they move?
• What kinds of non-prescription products are sold online for sexual and reproductive health purposes?
